The chairs that I am requesting for my students will be used to present a classroom environment that is both safe and welcoming. My students struggles with emotional disabilities and behavioral issues. They live in a lower SES community where the quality of furniture at home is not always appealing or functional. These new chairs will allow the classroom to serve as a place where students know they can feel comfortable both physically and emotionally. This will be the first new set of furniture in this self-contained classroom in over ten years. This new set will give students a sense of pride and responsibility for their classroom; and help them achieve success both academically and behaviorally.

About my class
