I am the speech pathologist for our K-4 elementary building. Some of my students come from the CARES program and they have highly specific needs resulting from severe disabilities such as autism, medical complications, and behavioral issues. Other students have speech needs that interfere with main stream academic progress. For my students, we have no standard curriculum, but rather it is up to me as the teacher to locate, develop, or create curriculum materials that help my students learn. One of the best places for a speech pathologist to find resources for teaching my special learners is from the amazing sellers on Teacher Pay Teacher, an online website with resources created from teachers across the country. From TPT, I can acquire the resources to help target the specific needs of each student. The BOOM cards that are available on TPT have been a huge hit with my kids, and it allows me to give them specific skill-based activities at their level, a blessing for my classroom with such a difference of learners! I can provide reading, math, science, social skills, and even speech with activities for them to complete independently. They are so motivated to keep learning with BOOM cards! My students will continue to require new materials as we are distance learning, and that means purchasing or creating them. Why reinvent the wheel when TPT does such a nice job at it already? Please help me by supporting this project to purchase a TPT gift card.
