Because of Covid, I have been primarily working remotely and will be doing so for the near future. When working with my students in person, I often played card games or board games to help develop their trust and establish rapport. Because we are working virtually, I am not able to engage with my students in the same manner, but still need a way to make connections and establish their trust so they feel comfortable confiding in me. I need a way to interact with my students in an informal manner so we can develop a partnership. Access to digital resources and activities will help me to develop a trusting relationship with the most vulnerable students. Once a sense of trust is established, my students will feel more comfortable opening up to me, so I can begin to address their needs and discuss strategies to manage and cope with their emotions.
