Our students have been through quite a challenging year with many adjustments, some very sudden. They are still virtual on Fridays and have just returned face-to-face this past week. Our third grade staff would like to give them a little encouragement and pet friend to keep with them. The students will each get to adopt a pet (a 3D eraser) and home (clear container) for his/her pet. They will be able to use paper to create a habitat (water, grass, decor). Each day they will earn points by completing work (in class and online), showing kindness, and following our school-wide PBIS qualities. They will use those points earned to buy items from the "pet store." Items will be mostly other mini-erasers of food items, things for the pet to play with, other pet friends. We will also be making felt blankets for them to buy their pets. We hope that these pet friends will encourage them to do their best and have some comfort during this difficult times.
