I am requesting extra phonics interventions, activities, games and practice. First graders missed the last half of kindergarten and need extra practice to catch back up! We will use these literacy materials for in-person learning in my first grade classroom. They will be used in small groups, one-on-one instruction, and independent learning centers. Our school is in the process of hiring more teachers and paraprofessionals to run small intervention groups so we can reach more kids more often. These materials would provide simple, meaningful, and effective practice for students who are struggling. Because of these materials, my prep time can be spent preparing for whole class and small group instruction without taking as much time training paras to help students make progress.
