Have you ever watched a child crouch down to observe a bug? They are so intrigued by the nature around them. Young learners are instinctively drawn to nature-based activities. Help bring the outside into our classroom. Kindergarten students learn best through open-ended activities that allow for hands-on exploration and cooperative learning. Our goal is to build nature-themed centers that will provide students the opportunity to grow their fine motor, number sense, computational, story-telling, observational, and social-emotional skills through hands-on activities that incorporate playful learning. We will be studying entomology during our literacy program and these centers will allow the children to apply the knowledge they learned through our nonfiction reading to their center time exploration.
