My students learn academic, functional, social, and daily living skills on a daily basis. Authentic resources are necessary to make the curriculum truly meaningful for each student. My goal as an educator is to provide a variety of different experiences to encourage my students to work towards their highest level of independence. Technology in the classroom is so beneficial for my students. It not only motivates them to participate, but facilitates access to a wide range of curriculum. As my 9-12th grade MOID students are preparing to enter the 21st century workforce, it is imperative for them to learn to read, write, and use technology. Our current classroom has two district assigned desktops. However, my students need access to more technology to write resumes, search for jobs, and obtain the necessary typing and computer skills that will last them a lifetime.
