Our students would benefit from having additional food in our classroom. These children are growing so fast at this stage that they are simply hungry for some days and need more to eat. It is very hard for the students to focus if they have a grumbling tummy. I have found that having food on hand means they can satisfy their hunger and move on to be successful students in my math class. Having enough food is essential to growth and focus in class. Students from all types of homes come to school each day hungry. I desire to have a classroom where they know they can ask for a midday snack or a snack pack for the weekend when some do not have access to free breakfast or lunch.
