Using the creative arts in therapy with children has been shown to have positive effects on the outcome of their treatment. It is clear in my work with children how much the use of art and creative play benefits their self-esteem, confidence, and ability to express themselves. The students at our school seem to be drawn to art-making and want to explore the use of different sensory materials. It is wonderful to see how they feel when they have completed an original work of art. The art supplies will be used in therapy sessions to support the students who will be returning to school for in-person instruction. I will also supply the students who are still learning from home materials that I have requested from DonorsChoose. I am all out of funds from the agency I work for and the school district is unable to provide me with these art materials.
