I am a first year kindergarten teacher at a Title I school. My classroom is a recently added classroom that used to be a computer lab. What this essentially translates into is that I have a very limited supply of leveled readers for my students! Much time has been spent printing black and white leveled readers onto copy paper. I have very few actual books to use for small reading groups. I would love for my young developing readers to be able to experience books as they should be enjoyed - holding them, turning the pages and experiencing vibrant pictures while learning to read the words. I truly believe reading is the foundation of all learning and this starts in kindergarten. Please help my kinders get their “hands” on some new books!
