As a 4th grade reading and social studies teacher, I have the unique opportunity to use cross-curricular materials to enhance learning. These class sets of novels will do that in an engaging and motivating way. The "I Survived" book series is perfect because it puts the students into living history and they are all written from a kid's point of view! As they are experiencing historical events, it will activate their literacy experience in Historical Fiction and also prompt discussions about the regional setting of the story. It may even act as a catalyst to become a life line reader!

About my class
