My project will allow for students to learn in a healthy and safe environment. Making sure they have food to eat, clothes to wear concerning the weather (socks, shoes, coats, hats, gloves, and uniforms), hygiene products, feminine products and other essentials that will alleviate the negative impact of living in a impoverished community that distracts their ability to learn. The community projects has potential to help not only our student but the families in the community as well. The storage items needed will allow for students to come into the free store and choose items they need for everyday living that have been securely stored with safe and easy access. The project will help our scholars who come to school during the cold winter months, without proper clothing to pick and choose from items that have been donated or purchased. Our goals are to insure that our students will be provided the necessary item to make sure the challenges faced are not blocking their education. We are also making sure that the challenges faced within the community does not impede the social and emotional development of the student while our scholars are out during the weekends and days off school. Our community center will provide items during the weekends, like meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, resources for parents and a safe place to come and find items of need.
