Being a Special Education teacher, I work with students on all grade levels. English Language Arts is an area where learning can be very difficult, especially for my students. Being able to display passages and work one on one with students during large group sessions will not only provide the direct instruction a student will need, but it will also allow them the comfort of confidentiality of skills they may feel uncomfortable about sharing with their peers. It is a game-changer for those students who are visually impaired. Utilizing a given curriculum and presenting it through the Schoology forum is not always enough. With the Apple iPad, I will be able to create and provide supplementary material that can be more individualized for my students in order to help them become stronger, and more confident readers!
