Imagine having to start school for the very first time on a screen from your home rather than a colorful, engaging kindergarten classroom that is meant to be filled with friends, laughter, and learning. My students will be returning to the classroom after 5 months of kindergarten through a screen that does not always have reliable internet connections. By donating to our project you will be providing these incredible kindergarteners the opportunity to build the in-person relationships we have been missing and continue to social distance within the classroom. Positive student relationships are fundamental to success. When students feel supported, they're more likely to engage in learning and have better academic outcomes. When students have positive interactions with teachers and their peers, they have fewer behavioral problems. The children will learn how to think, understand, communicate, behave, express emotions, and develop social skills. Playing strengthens a child’s relationship and encourages them to explore, observe, experiment, and solve problems. Through these cooperative/academic games, interactive stories, and motor activities we can celebrate and build strengths and successes. I have included motor activities that encourage communication between students. As a child's motor coordination increases, so too will their sense of independence, self-reliance, and self-confidence.
