My students are happy to have in-person instruction this year despite the current COVID-19 crisis. Our school has taken many precautions which are allowing us to keep our doors open. A major struggle students have is wearing a mask for 8 hours a day. The use of plexiglass shields will allow them to get a break from their masks. My students have researched desk shield already available and they plan to make changes to make them more effective. They would like to make theirs foldable and portable for ease in traveling from class to class. They have conducted sneeze tests to ensure their shield size is most efficient and they have researched materials that are most effective. The items we are requesting are the plexiglass sheet to make our shield and the hinges to connect them.
