Multi-sensory math is designed to help students with specific learning disability or to aid students that may have learning gaps. However, teaching with this method works for all students. I am a special education teacher, and an academic language therapist who has done extensive professional develop to help my students achieve academic success. My goal with these materials is to reach more students beyond the classroom by hold summer camp and after school tutoring to help students with the learning gaps they may be experiencing either by a disability or by the educational challenges some have faced due to a pandemic. With these materials, students will be building notebooks that will contain reference materials and math strategies to math concepts that they can use in the classroom or at home. The manipulatives and craft materials will give students an engaging multi-sensory experience that will use all the pathways of the brain (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic-tactile) to enhance learning.
