The outdoor classroom is a safe place for all students to enjoy nature while experiencing science. This project has 2 parts. The literature will support what the students see in the garden, allow extensions and is geared toward younger students. The books were selected because they relate to what the students can observe in the garden and at home. The sciences kits are designed to directly relate to the outdoor classroom and garden area, with extension and application to home. Students will learn how plants are effected by being exposed to different conditions. Students will also learn how landfills work and explore alternatives to our current practices when it comes to daily consumer waste.
