The playground is the place to be. However, our current playground equipment is broken and in need of replacement. We are asking for new outdoor playground equipment which will not only be tons of fun but, will also help with our gross motor development, which is so important at this age. Gross motor skills impact a child’s ability to perform everyday tasks, such as running, jumping and climbing. Children also need gross motor skills to help them sit properly so they can learn in school. This requested equipment will help with hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills like throwing and catching. The hopper balls will be used to develop balance and coordination and strengthen motor skills. The number stones will be a great way to incorporate number recognition into gross motor play. Different types of activities and play promotes learning and growth in young students. Physical play helps to develop brain, motor skills, and social development. Many young learners come to school lacking basic coordination and movement skills. This equipment will help strengthen these skills while allowing them to have fun. When Pre-K students develop gross motor skills, it promotes healthy habits students can embrace for a lifetime. Gross motor skills develop from the center of the body, outwards. They develop strength in the core and trunk before the arms and legs. These skills are essential to maintain good posture, move their body parts and participate in daily activities, as well as games and sports.
