I strongly believe that all students are able to learn at high levels when provided with adequate support and resources. Research has been conducted that shows a correlation between STEM activities and a student’s motivation, self-efficacy, and persistency when faced with difficult tasks. Critical thinking is not something that comes natural to students, but through hands-on manipulation, we are able to close this gap and have all students thinking critically at a level appropriate for them. These STEM Bins will serve as their warm-up. Each bin will include task direction for them to complete. These STEM Bins will encourage students to create, invent, and solve problems using real-world challenges. This is something I will be able to implement in my classroom for years!
