Due to COVID-19, our school district is schooling our students 100% online until further notice. We were given older laptops at the start of the school year that are not able to meet the demands of virtual teaching. I found that using my 10-year-old MacBook Pro is more effective then the laptop provided. However, it is showing signs of the end of its life and is not able to keep up with the demands of running multiple applications at once while live streaming via Zoom with my students all day, every day (nor is the school provided laptop). Please help me to be the most effective and engaging teacher for my knowledge-quenching students by keeping the lag away with a new Apple MacBook Pro. As a math teacher, numbers mean a lot in my world and time is a number. A new laptop would allow me to be more effective with my class time by not having to wait for apps or websites to load (sometimes taking several minutes away from each class) while also having a faster processor and the most up-to-date software to help prevent the lagging my students and I currently experience. A new laptop would also allow me to use more engaging platforms (that I wouldn't have to wait so long to load) to make learning as interactive as possible. I only have eighty-five minutes twice a week with my students and want to make the most of the precious time I have with them! Thank you for helping to make our virtual learning experience the best it can be!
