My students are happy and eager learners. They attend Moffett Elementary School in the Lennox School District. My students come from low income non affluent communities where there is a high likelihood that both parents work one or two jobs each to make ends meet. There is a significant financial gap that is as apparent as the education gap between my students and more affluent students. They are very needy in the sense that I have students in first grade still learning letter sound correspondence and still have trouble decoding CVC words. Sprinkle in other readers at various levels makes this class a challenge that I am willing meet head on, with the help of Donors Choose.
