Law enforcement students at the Bay-Arenac Career Center go on "ride along's" with local police departments. At times, these students are placed in close proximity to situations, where firearms could be used or needed for the students protection. Officers in past ride along, have instructed students to utilize the officers extra weapons in potential life or death situations. As such, students should have personal experience, and be exposed to the plethora of different firearm's that are used in law enforcement. The virtual reality video game called "Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades" does just that. This video game allows students to practice safe firearm handling, as well as loading unloading and using all different kinds of firearms, from pistols, rifles and shotguns. The virtual realty goggles and computer system in this donor request, will enable our law enforcement class to get this training at school in a safe learning environment.
