The standing desk will provide options for my students to work as many adults do. I prepare my high school special education students for the world of work. They need to build stamina and I can stimulate many jobs (cashier, assembly, data entry, hostess, and more careers) that expect workers to stand and work the majority of the time. It will also benefit my students by allowing them to move more during instructional time. Some students learn better by standing and moving instead of sitting for prolonged times. The elastic chair bands also provide movement through bouncing your legs and feet in ways that are not distracting. Finally the headsets and mics allow students to listen independently and record their answers as needed for instruction.
