My 4th grade students struggle in reading, yet are working hard to find a spark of interests that will motivate them to become better readers. After doing a shared read loud of Judy Blume's "Fudge" series, they have started to grow academically. To carry their interests further I would like to gift them the final book of the series for Christmas, "Double Fudge". Additionally, I would like them to have access to the TIME For Kids magazines to integrate cross curriculum activities within the classroom. With their own copy I will be able to integrate project based learning in the classroom. These materials will be used in the classroom as a book study, shared reading, guided reading groups, and enjoyable reading material.
