My young learners are just starting their language development skills. These students need more fine motor practice and a way to creatively express themselves as individuals. Having a writing center in the classroom will give my students more choices to draw and write. By providing my students with a variety of materials, they can share their work with their teachers, peers, and families. Writing helps children learn to read and is considered a multi-sensory activity. Having a fun and engaging writing center for my students will help encourage them to use the materials and learn in a fun way! The writing center table has plenty of space for students to work together. There are easy to access shelves for many materials to be stored. Purchasing 4 chairs along with the writing table will provide my students a comfortable place to sit while they work and will provide my students the visual of how many students can work in that space at one time. Providing writing boards for each student at the center will ensure students can all be working at the same time with safe and mess-free materials. The writing boards are perfect for my young learners who change their ideas and what to create multiple projects at once. I believe by adding the writing center table to my classroom, along with a new variety of materials, my students will be excited to explore the materials and improve on their writing and fine motor skills.
