My students are strictly virtual this year and these tools will assist me in planning and implementing amazing lessons that my students can do at home. This tablet will enable me to use writing apps and interact with my students on a deeper level. With the current technology available to me, it is very hard to model what I am teaching for my students. This will alleviate many of the struggles I am facing when working with my students virtually. It will be one more tool that would encourage student-to-teacher interactions. An example of how I will be utilizing the iPad is during writing instruction. Writing is a subject area and skill that our students struggle with a great deal; I incorporate student writing every day, and journals are one method I use. The students' struggle with writing is such that they need to see a great deal of modeling from the teacher. Using the iPad and Apple pen will help me to model the steps of writing; brainstorming their ideas, organizing their ideas and then putting them into a cohesive writing piece. Sketchnotes is a tool that I use and, more importantly, that the students respond to when teaching writing. The tools I have now do not allow me to make full use of modeling the process.Another way I can use the iPad is by utilizing the Telempromter Pro Lite app. This will help my students sharpen their reading skills in the moment. Lastly, It will simplify the use of screen casting in my lessons.
