I would like to purchase 30 copies of Sing Down The Moon to provide background knowledge for my students before they complete an extensive research project. The historical fiction will draw the students into feeling the struggles the Native Americans experienced due to the westward expansion. Students learn when they can make connections to their learning. There is no better way to hook a student than through an emotional tie to a subject. Reading does that! Through words in a book, students can use their imagination to be transported back in time.
