As holidays are approaching, I am thinking of a way to gift students with at least one or two books which can be their personal books to use at school or home. My students can use the books for book projects, find non fiction text features or compare and contrast two fictional books. These books can be their first personal possessions to keep for a long time. Working on these standards using their own books will impact their learning forever. They will make personal connections with learning at school and transferring the knowledge to home learning. We have been learning GA Standard of Excellence for first grade in reading. Our students love to explore variety of books. Due to COVID, students are unable to share classroom books. These books will be for them to keep and use at home or at school for variety of school assignments.
