My students are always excited to learn the recorder in 4th grade. It is often a major turning point for students who were previously lacking interest, and it is a great way to prepare them to learn band instruments such as clarinet and saxophone in 5th grade. Our budget is small, so normally I would sanitize last year's instruments and replace only the damaged ones. In these uncertain times, giving my 4th grade Music students their own recorders will allow my students to start playing without the fear of sharing an already USED instrument as well as have an instrument to call their own. Additionally, most of my students are from immigrant families, and 90% receive free and reduced lunch, so they will be extremely appreciative of this opportunity to play an instrument while they are learning from home. Thank you for the generosity you have shown my students. We are grateful for your consideration in donating to our classroom!
