Students often have difficulty with the algebraic steps involved in solving the wide variety of equations required in the courses I teach. In the classroom, we typically use small groups and students working at the board to share and analyze the steps each student takes in solving the problems. During this pandemic, some students will be continuing with remote instruction, and those who are in the classroom will need to maintain a social distance of 6 feet. These circumstances will make it difficult for both remote and in-person learners to share and analyze each other's solutions. A document camera would allow me to gather students' work and project it for all of my students to view, analyze and discuss. This could make all the difference in my efforts to keep my students fully engaged in their learning throughout the pandemic and beyond.
