These dynamic activities make learning accessible to all students. Research has shown that students retain more information when learning is presented in a way that is fun and engaging. As a Math Interventionist, I support teachers and students in grades K-5 in the area of math. The resources that I have requested will help support students of all abilities within each of these classrooms. Building a solid foundation of number sense and thinking flexibly with numbers in these grades is crucial for future learning. When students are able to construct their own understanding, it sets them on the right path for success in later grades. When students are confident and able to think flexibly with numbers, it gives them a stronger foundation in grades 3-5 when they learn multiplication, division, partial products, and most importantly the ability to think efficiently and accurately with larger numbers.
