One of the most important lessons learned in the Physical Education classroom is the aspect of teamwork. Teamwork is woven into the bedrock of most games, but other skills are the focal point. The parachutes and the marble activity requested in this grant will put teamwork at the heart of the activity. Students need to have opportunities to practice communication and team building skills so that they can use them in their everyday lives. Whether it is with a partner or in a small group, students will exercise their bodies, while they are practicing the art of working together toward a goal. My hope is that the skills learned with these lessons will carry over to the classroom, the bus, the playground, and at home by supporting and encouraging positive interactions.
