Students will use these materials to build and create. These materials will challenge them to problem solve and persevere. Allowing students to use materials to create taps into their imagination and critical thinking skills. We have time at school this year when students are allowed to work independently and these materials will be a perfect diversion from other activities. The intent of the stem bins is to have students working in groups to learn from each other so I hope to incorporate collaboration with their peers as well as independent work.
