First grade is a fun and exciting year where students are eager to learn and interact with one another. It is also a critical year to lay a strong reading foundation rooted in phonemic awareness and phonics. These teaching tubs would help our students to overcome barriers that they experience with vocabulary and limited background knowledge. The teaching tubs would also encourage hands on opportunities for our students to interact with the sounds they are learning in class. This fun, interactive approach would hopefully foster a love and excitement for reading. This project would benefit three first grade classrooms.

About my class
