I have some pretty amazing students in my classroom. Some of them struggle with sensory issues. Special seating and sensory items like lap pads, foot fidgets, and alternative seating, help them to get the input they need to engage in learning activities. The timers help them to comprehend how long they need to work. Sometimes it is difficult to sit through an activity without behaviors, but if they know they don't have to sit forever it is so much easier as they tend to be visual learners. Seeing the red disappear will remind them that an end is in sight and help them push forward.
