No matter what, these supplies will help towards the future for getting a hairstylist/cosmetologist license. A career right out of high school! The students will love their new career and be able to support themselves while going to college or not going to college! I am excited to be able to help to change lives and help serve the community in such a positive way!
We prepare kit packing days & practice(speed drills)with our students for a whole school year prior to State Board testing.
We incorporate reviews/lessons to help the students remember State Board tasks /procedures by planning & playing several different types of memory games.
At State Board they will demonstrate several services- A few examples are: haircutting & several different hair coloring techniques & a first aid procedure .
The students have to pack & take a Clean & Disinfected Kit/ Duffle Bag (several things that are needed nitrile gloves,pump style hand sanitizer,small portion cups with labeled mock product , shears & razor in a puncture proof pencil case -all packed with labels printed with black sharpie markers in 2 gallon baggies) all of this and so much more is used during the State Board practical testing.
Students will do a mock blood spill incident that requires a first aid kit to demonstrate properly & safely administering first aid .
Normally these supplies require out of pocket expenses for the students and their parents. With these supplies they will not need to spend hardly anything to complete their kits!! They supply everything, nothing is provided by State Board .What a incredible financial relief especially during these trying times !!
This will effect these students immediately & for their bright futures!! Again this opportunity is such a special gift for each & everyone of our students.
