These materials will help my students relate to real world experiences of the African American culture. Reading is a challenge for some due to the lack of interest. I am hoping that the interest level of these books will increase the desire of my students wishing to read. The materials will encourage my students as they will be able to relate to many of the situations in the novels chosen as well as read important biographies of impactful African Americans that helped to shape the world in which we live in.
