Hybrid and distance learning have been difficult for teaching and learning American Sign Language. At home, students are deciphering two-dimensional videos and often left without conversation partners. At school, most language features are lost under face coverings, and conversation partners are only present up to two days per week. In order to learn ASL, students need to see their instructor, and each other, as clearly as possible. As my district moves into full distance learning, I want to give my students every opportunity to see my signing clearly, and for me to see their signing as well. With this upgraded webcam, I will be able to adjust lighting and cut down on motion blur during video conferencing. A second monitor will allow me to continually see my students while delivering instruction.
