These books will positively impact my students' reading of Shakespere's Romeo and Juliet! Last year, my 9th graders built props for the play in advance, and then we acted out the scenes of the whole play with the props that they created themselves. The only problem was that they had to hold their phones or computers while they belted out their Shakespearean lines! I don't have any copies of the play, No Fear or otherwise, and my students had to settle on reading a sideways scanned PDF copy of the document. This project would be an opportunity for my students to be able to hold their book and speak their Romeo and Juliet lines like a true thespian! They will already have the props that they built like pros, so having the No Fear Shakespeare book copies will allow them to more comfortably and more easily be the play-readers that they strive to be.
