For the last ten years at our Title I school, the Stratford High Photography Club has cobbled together its equipment in whatever way it can. We have lights from a church that was throwing theirs out. We have a green screen borrowed from the computer classroom. We diy our own filters and softboxes, and share personal cameras. We do this because we love photography and creating. I want to give them a creator space to hone their skills at the highest level. Now more than ever, digital literacy is key. Multimedia skills make them competitive in a challenging job market. My students have overcome so much in their personal lives, I want to give them every possible chance to pursue their ideal career.

About my class
