Many of the students in my classroom come from varying backgrounds. This makes our classroom an amazing melting pot full of culture, talent, experience, etc.! Out of 19 students this year, five students are new to the United States and/or new to learning the English language. These iPads will be used to automatically translate assignments in real time. Using translation applications on the iPads, I will be able to automatically translate homework pages, assignments, assessments, books, etc into any language that may help my students better understand and connect to the material being taught. When they are not being used as translation devices, I plan to use these iPads as a technology tool that will engage all students in literacy activities.
