It is important for all students to be able to learn music and the arts. I want all of my students to have an appreciation for the arts and be able to express themselves and their feelings through their work. In music class, we study how to read, write, create, and respond to music. Instruments are an essential tool in creating music and all students should have access to learn with a variety of instrument experiences. My students currently have very limited access to instruments and many of them are broken or in need of repair. It is my mission to get more instruments in the hands of my students to help enrich their education. At a time when our music students can't come to us, we need to bring the music to their homes. These instruments will be used during video instruction in coordination with the other district elementary music teacher. The instruments will not only enrich their remote learning, but our students will be overjoyed to get their hands on these xylophones to begin creating their own music expressions when we do get to return to a traditional classroom experience.
