My students make up an increasingly diverse population. Integrating this diversity of peoples and cultures into our music classes and lessons will allow my students to see themselves in the lessons and the subject. We want to celebrate our diversity through music and social-emotional learning through literacy and creativity. The books and materials in this project will be used to teach and learn about a variety of music and cultures, as well as celebrate the successes of my students. We will read the books as a class and then use the stories to further our understanding of music as well as the variety of cultures and peoples that make the world a beautiful place.
