I love to read chapter books out loud to my students. It gives me a chance to model fluency, reading speed, and character voice. It is not unusual for me to get loud, act silly, or change my voice when reading. This makes reading more exciting for the kids. My goal is for kids to add fun expression when they read too! Paying attention to a read aloud through the computer is hard! I want each of my students to have their own copy of the chapter book, The World According to Humphrey. Humphrey is a sweet little hamster who has awesome adventures in second grade. This way when I read the book aloud to them, they can follow along with their own book at home.
