Many of the CSMS band students have been requesting that we create a jazz band at our school. As of now, we do not have any text books or methods books to educate the students. This DonorsChoose project would allow each student to learn and engage with jazz instruction both in school and at home. Once we have the funds to pay for a text book for each instrument, we will be able to start the jazz band! As students learn to perform the basic fundamentals of jazz, they will grow stronger as musicians. Jazz will teach students to love and appreciate band and music in new ways, and it will allow each one of the students to explore a creative element of music that they have not yet discovered.
