One way our staff supports our students is through social emotional learning. While our teachers implement a classroom wide SEL curriculum, some of our students need extra support in developing social emotional learning skills. I have the ability to provide additional support to our students by supporting classroom wide lessons, meeting with small groups, and checking in with individual students. The books that I have listed are books that can help support our students' social emotional development. I intend on using the books in my work with students, but also want to have the books available for teachers and support staff to use in their work with students. I would like to read the books to the students I am working with as a way to talk about some of the problems our students may experience. Currently, I have few books in my collection and would like to expand my collection to include a variety of books that show diversity and various problems children may experience. Your generous donation will help me create a social emotional learning book collection that our students and staff can enjoy for years to come.
