As both an ESE teacher and ESE chair, I serve to support all grade levels via compliance, IEP support, and direct teaching. This project is a result of much collaboration between both the ESE and regular education Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs to teach physical distance while still having fun. While these items will be used primarily for the younger students at first, they can easily be repurposed to the older ESE population when more students return to school physically throughout the year. Hula Hoops are a great visual cue to teach our students of all cognitive abilities to maintain a safe distance while engaging in enjoyable activities together. These hula hoops require assembly which will additionally provide for fine motor and bilateral skills training for the little ones. They can also be filled with sand, beans, and other small objects to provide weight for children who may need the additional sensory support. The bags are for easy storage of the assembled hoops.
