These materials will help me transform the 1st grade classrooms into themes. We have noticed that students truly learn the most when having fun! With this project, my students will be able to participate in learning activities with the following room transformations: Construction day, Superhero Day, and Glow Day. For example, in Construction Day, students will celebrate the 120th day of school (the number 1st grade students are required to count to in VA). We will perform "constructing word" and math tasks that go along with the construction theme. The materials in my project will help transform the room into a "construction zone" which will help my students dive into their roles for the day. The following materials will help me make my classroom a construction jone: Blulu 28 pieces construction decor, Kids Caution at Work tape, Construction hats, traffic cones, and the stickers. For example, we will be conducting a "Superhero Day" in which our first graders will be learning that "silent e" has superhero powers to make the vowels say their names. They will be participating in different missions that include reading clues, writing new words with the silent e as well as superhero addition and subtraction missions. The following materials will help make my classroom into a superhero's scene: colorful classroom banner, Blulu 6 piece hanging paper lanterns, AIMIKE Superhero capes and masks and the backdrops. We will also be participating in a "Glow Day" where all of our reading, writing and math centers will centered around glow activities. The Onforu blacklights will help make this day possible. They will light our classroom and make everything interactive. The following materials will help me make learning fun: blacklight party decor, 100 glow sticks, UV blacklight tape, Elmers Glow in the Dark Glue and Ultimate Confetti.
