I see students for 30 minutes once a week so it has to be both engaging and highly impactful. The items I have selected will be used to engage students in speech therapy and as learning tools. I can use the puppet with an interactive book I already have for individual and group story time that helps students build literacy, vocabulary, and learn parts of a narrative story. The audiobooks can be checked out for students to take home or listen to in their family car. All of the materials I have ordered will support my K-5 students increase communication and learn skills that will help build both expressive and receptive communication.
