The school garden is growing in popularity and more students want to take part in creating and maintaining the garden. The equipment I am requesting will help to create an inviting garden that is user and environmentally friendly and welcoming to all students. The picnic table will provide some much needed seating for students as they plan their garden beds and harvest seeds. The composter will help store the plant debris and allow us to add nutrient rich compost to our soil. The rain barrel will help to conserve water and provide easy access. The garden bed will allow us to grow some of the larger vegetables that take more room to grow and are harvested in the fall when children are in school. All of the items will allow for more teachers and students to visit the garden and provide for hands-on learning that goes along with their plant-based science curriculum.
